Wood Mackenzie Study Examines Impact of CO2 on US Refiners

A New Wood Mackenzie study addresses the "potentially disruptive impact of carbon on US refiners."

In this new paper, Alan Gelder, Head of Downstream Oil Consulting, discusses the current carbon legislation for the US and European refining industry and its implications on the sector, in terms of impact on oil demand and refining supply.

One of the key conclusions is that the severity of the impact, in terms of overall costs, is significantly greater for the US refining industry than its European counterpart.
